Dr. Jennifer Baird, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
Dr. Jennifer Baird, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. received her undergraduate degree and her medical degree at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. Her special interests include minimally invasive surgery, uterine ablation and contraception.
Prior to joining The Center for Women in 1999, she was associated with Mount Carmel East in Columbus, Ohio and with Planned Parenthood of Southeast Ohio. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Baird enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and her animals. She also enjoys riding horses and actively assisting her kids with their 4H projects.
Dr. Laura Musser, D.O., F.A.C.O.O.G.
Dr. Laura Musser, D.O., F.A.C.O.O.G. completed her undergraduate degree at St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame Indiana. She then worked as a research assistant in the Department of Cardiology at Northwestern University School of Medicine.
After completing medical school at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio, Laura moved to Akron to serve her OB/GYN residency. She joined The Center for Women in 2004 and is a member of the AOA and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Gaye Sympson, D.N.P., C.N.M.
Gaye Sympson, D.N.P., C.N.M. graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio with a Doctorate in Nursing and Board Certified in Midwifery. She has been practicing as a Certified Nurse Midwife since 1993. She pioneered the first Nurse Midwifery practice in the Youngstown area.
Dr. Sympson's scope of practice is both obstetrical and gynecological. She has a full range gynecological practice including contraception, hormone replacement therapy management, in office procedures, breast issues and bone issues. Patient ages vary from preteens to their 90's.
Her obstetrical scope of practice ranges from conception thru postpartum. She delivers all her babies in the hospital.
In addition to practicing midwifery, Dr. Sympson enjoys spending time with her three sons and two grandsons. She also enjoys traveling, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Cleveland Indians.
Cecelia Gallagan, WHNP-BC
Cecelia Gallagan, WHNP-BC graduated from Malone College with a BSN and Kent State University with a MSN. She's been with The Center for Women since her graduation in 2007.
Cece has previous experience in labor and delivery as well as having experience as a sexual assault nurse examiner. She's also been trained by ASCCP in Colposcopy. Cece has traveled to serve in medical missions in Liberia. She has functioned as an adjunct professor at Malone University since 2011.
Cece has a wonderful family and enjoys spending time with her husband and kids as well as traveling. Cece also loves to serve at her church with the Children's Ministry and Women's Ministry.
Julie Brennan, WHNP-BC
Julie Brennan, WHNP-BC received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Kent State Unversity in Kent, Ohio.
Julie joined The Center for Women in July, 2010. Prior to joining The Center for Women, she worked as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner for another OB/GYN group in the area for approximately 14 years. She holds certifications as a Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner and Electronic Fetal Monitoring.
Julie cares for women across their life span, from the teenage years to after menopause. She works in collaboration with all of The Center for Women physicians.
Nisha Kalia, M.D.
Dr. Nisha Kalia, M.D. received her medical degree from Kasturba Medical College. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. Her special interests are in managing Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), menopause, hormone replacement therapy, contraception, osteoporosis and laparoscopic surgery.
Dr. Kalia is a member of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology as well as the American Medical Association.
In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Kalia enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, dancing, watching movies and going on long drives. If she was not a physician, she would be an interior designer. HGTV is her favorite television channel. Taking a dream vacation to Switzerland is part of her bucket list.
Priya Patel, M.D.
Dr. Priya Patel, M.D. received her undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta, GA and her medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. She completed her residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
In addition to enjoying the practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with her husband, family and two beautiful dogs.
Keri Speicher, NP-C
Keri Speicher, NP-C received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Akron University and her Master's Degree from Malone University. Keri is a graduate of Malone University Family Nurse Practitioner Program and is certified in Ohio as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to joining The Center for Women in September 2012, Keri worked as a pediatric nurse for 13 years at Akron Children's Hospital in Akron and the Mahoning Valley. Keri brings a total of approximately 18 years of nursing experience to her role here at The Center for Women.
Keri and her husband live near the area with their two wonderful daughters and a cuddly bichon frise puppy named Molly.
Sara Nicholas, D.O.
Dr. Sara Nicholas, D.O. received her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Oakwood Hospital - Southshore in Trenton, Michigan. Her special interests are in family planning and minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. Nicholas is a member of the American Congress of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists as well as the American Osteopathic Association.
In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Nicholas enjoys soccer, traveling, and spending time with her husband and family.
